Translating Vision Into Meaningful Change
Once you’ve defined your Impact Statement—the long-term change your D&I strategy is working toward—the next step is to identify the Outcomes that will move you in that direction.
In the Kellogg Logic Model framework, outcomes represent the specific, measurable changes in knowledge, attitudes, behaviours, policies, or practices that occur as a result of your strategy and activities. In a D&I context, outcomes might include shifts in employee perceptions of inclusion, increased representation in leadership, or improved equity in recruitment and promotion processes.
Outcomes serve as a crucial bridge between your high-level vision and the practical actions needed to realise it. They help ensure your strategy is both focused and actionable, allowing you to track progress and demonstrate impact over time.
In this section, we’ll guide you through a step-by-step approach to defining your outcomes. You’ll learn how to identify short-, medium-, and long-term changes that align with your impact statement, and how to write clear, realistic outcome statements that inspire progress and accountability.
We’ll also provide practical tips and examples to help spark ideas and ensure your outcomes are aligned with the unique goals and context of your organisation.
Let’s move from vision to transformation—one outcome at a time.
